Frequently Asked Questions About Solar Projects, Available Space, and RTB Status in Romania
Here you will find answers to the most important questions regarding land suitability, project development, investments, and permitting processes for photovoltaic and energy storage projects in southern Romania.
General
What technologies do you use?
We primarily work with ground-mounted photovoltaic systems that use crystalline technology (mono PERC or TOPCon) and LiFePO₄ (lithium iron phosphate)-based battery storage systems.
For property owners
What types of properties are suitable?
An area of at least 5 hectares, preferably flat, undeveloped, and located outside protected areas. Former industrial sites or abandoned industrial areas are also suitable.
How does the inspection of my area work?
Following an initial free GIS analysis, we will draw up a letter of intent (LOI) for an in-depth analysis and project preparation, provided the project is suitable.
When do the lease payments start?
Once the project has been handed over to an investor and is ready for construction. Prior to that, the owner incurs no costs.
Is it possible to sell the vehicle instead of entering into a lease agreement?
Yes, we will provide a customized purchase or lease offer following a review of the project.
For investors
What services do you provide?
We offer full-scale project development up to the RTB stage—including site analysis, approval planning, network application, and handover to the SPV structure.
Which regions do you cover?
We focus on southern Romania: Ilfov, Prahova, Argeș, Giurgiu, and Dâmbovița. Other regions available upon request.
Who is responsible for coordinating the construction?
We offer construction-ready projects—for construction, EPC, and operation—and recommend experienced implementation partners if needed.
How is the project acquired?
The transfer takes place through an independent special purpose vehicle (SPV). The project costs are transparently documented.
For authorities and partners
Who is authorized to submit construction proposals?
Our team is registered with the OAR and RUR—this allows us to submit complete approval documents.
Who are the local contacts?
Our office within the D’OR offices in Bucharest is fully staffed. The contact person for technical inquiries is Dr. Atena Gârjoabă.
How do you handle environmental regulations?
We work closely with certified environmental assessors and maintain contact with the relevant authorities from the very beginning.
