Bucharest
Ilfov
As the county bordering the capital city of Bucharest, Ilfov benefits from strong grid connectivity and high demand for electricity—conditions that are ideal for the development of high-performance solar farms on vacant land.
Giurgiu
Giurgiu enjoys excellent solar radiation and vast tracts of agricultural land or fallow fields that are underutilized—ideal for the development of large-scale photovoltaic parks in the megawatt range.
Teleorman
With its flat terrain and high levels of solar radiation, Teleorman is one of the most attractive regions for ground-mounted photovoltaic projects in southern Romania. The conditions allow for the efficient implementation of projects.
Călărași
The combination of predominantly agricultural landscapes and high levels of solar radiation makes Călărași County particularly attractive for large-scale, conventional ground-mounted photovoltaic projects.
Ialomița
In Ialomița County, the vast, open landscapes offer numerous opportunities for land use in open-field photovoltaic projects. The rural setting and grid connectivity make it ideal for the development of large-scale PV installations.
Dâmbovița
While the northern part of Dâmbovița County is more hilly, the southern areas offer suitable sites for photovoltaic projects. In particular, sites located near substations are attractive for solar farms on open land.
Prahova
Prahova is a county with a strong economy, where the open land in the south is well-suited for large-scale solar farms. The well-developed grid infrastructure, combined with high solar radiation, supports a reliable supply of energy to the grid.
Argeș
Despite the partially mountainous terrain in the north, the southern part of Argeș County offers favorable conditions for ground-mounted solar projects, particularly on unused or extensively used agricultural land.
Buzău
Buzău offers a favorable combination of flat terrain and excellent sunlight exposure. Particularly in the southern part of the county, there are extensive areas of farmland and fallow land, ideal for the development of large-scale solar farms on open land.
Brăila
Brăila is one of the most attractive locations in eastern Romania thanks to its largely flat and open plains, as well as its high annual solar radiation levels. Good accessibility and proximity to major energy infrastructure provide ideal conditions for the development of high-performance photovoltaic projects on open land.
Eligible: agricultural land, industrial land, vacant land designated for construction. No forests, no protected areas.
